The World Games Nepal Committee

The World Games Nepal Committee (WGNC) is the official national body recognised by the International World Games Association (IWGA) to represent Nepal in The World Games. We are dedicated to promoting and developing the non-Olympic sports disciplines that are featured in The World Games on both national and international stages.

Our committee works in close collaboration with the National Sports Council of Nepal, national sports federations, and international governing bodies to ensure that Nepali athletes receive world-class support, training, and opportunities to compete at the highest level.

Our Mission

To promote, develop, and coordinate non-Olympic sports in Nepal by supporting national federations, providing athlete development programmes, representing Nepal in The World Games, and building strategic partnerships that elevate the profile of sports in the nation.

Our Core Objectives

Athlete Development

Identify, nurture, and develop talented Nepali athletes in World Games disciplines through structured training programmes, coaching education, and financial support.

National Representation

Officially represent Nepal at The World Games and within the IWGA ecosystem, ensuring Nepal's voice is heard and its athletes compete under the national flag.

Federation Coordination

Work hand-in-hand with national sports federations to coordinate scheduling, resources, and athlete selection for World Games qualification and participation.

Promotion & Awareness

Raise public awareness and appreciation of non-Olympic sports disciplines in Nepal through media engagement, community outreach, and school programmes.

Good Governance

Uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all committee operations, in line with IWGA guidelines and national law.

International Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with IWGA, international sports federations, and fellow national committees to benefit Nepal's sporting community.

History & Milestones

2010

Committee Founded

The World Games Nepal Committee was officially established and registered as the national body responsible for coordinating Nepal's participation in The World Games.

2012

IWGA Recognition

The committee received full recognition from the International World Games Association (IWGA), formalising Nepal's membership in the global World Games family.

2014

First World Games Participation

Nepal sent its first official delegation to The World Games, competing in multiple disciplines and establishing the national committee's presence on the international stage.

2016

Athlete Development Programme

Launched a structured national athlete development programme in partnership with the National Sports Council, supporting over 100 athletes across 15 sports disciplines.

2018

National Expansion

Extended the committee's reach to all seven provinces of Nepal, establishing provincial coordination offices and expanding participation in World Games disciplines nationwide.

Today

Growing Stronger

The committee continues to expand its programmes, support more athletes, and deepen its partnerships — working towards Nepal's strongest-ever World Games representation.
